The best way to define the Chool is 'a stool that thinks it's a chair'. This innovative design is a prime example of how space starved modern homes can take advantage of multifunctional pieces of furniture. As a stool it can be conveniently stored under a table or desk, but, when you sit on it, the reactive full size backrest is activated and raised by a mechanical movement. At the same time, the entire pod smoothly descends a few inches to standard seating height transforming the stool into an ultra comfortable chair (or armchair depending on the model). When you get up from it, the Chool will automatically return to its practical and sleek stool form. At the push of a button It can also be locked into any position between chair and stool. It does not requires external power to operate as it only relies on your weight to activbate the seat. This clever design will change the way you sit, decorate and live in your space.

FABRICS
Sting Fabric
The Sting fabric is an innovative and environmentally friendly fabric made from a mix of nettles and pure wool fibre. It is designed to exhibit its natural rustic charm in a fancy hopsack with a soft, tasteful colour palette inspired by the English countryside and hedgerow. Nettles are often thought of as a persistent weed with a painful sting, but it is in fact an incredibly beautiful plant with a myriad of uses. Their stems contain long, strong and soft fibres with high performance technical characteristics making them ideal for use in furnishing fabrics. They also have in-built fire retardant properties: When blended with wool, they create an unrivalled naturally fire retardant fabric which meets the main UK flammability standard (Crib 5 Medium Hazard) without any chemical FR treatment.
Environmental credentials: Made using locally grown materials and locally manufactured, the Sting fabric is the most sustainable fabric ever. Sting is the result of four years’ research and development involving nettle harvesting, fibre extraction, weaving, dyeing and technical performance evaluation. Nettles grow easily - without the need for pesticides or herbicides - on land which is often unsuitable for other crops, such as floodplains and even on brown field sites. In doing so they create their very own diverse eco-system by providing a natural habitat for rabbits, birds, butterflies, insects, moths, even frogs and toads. Pure wool provides the perfect accompaniment to the fibre produced by the nettle plant. The two fibre types are blended together and spun locally in the UK to create this amazing fabric. The fabric is then woven on energy efficient looms powered by green electricity from renewable sources. Any selvedge waste and yarn remnants go into recycling streams for use in mattress fillings and insulation materials. Finally the fabric is piece-dyed in low liquor dye vessels using non-metallic dye and a natural water supply flowing directly from the Pennine hills.
Perla Fabric
The Perla fabric is the classic combination of a string of alternating black and white beads. In the yarn the white ply is wound around the black ply, giving Perla an extremely precise appearance. The fabric acquires its relief and structure from the yarn resulting in a structure reminiscent of tweed. The colours are deliberatly subdued to emphasis the structure of the fabric.
Flora Fabric
The combination of mélange colours and weaving techniques is peculiar to this upholstery fabric making it quite unique. The Flora fabric is made of New Zealand wool. Flora is a crepe weave fabric, that is woven with a yarn in a crepe binding, which gives a light surface texture. What is really special about this fabric is the way in which the combination of mélange colours and surface texture reveals different aspects of the same piece of furniture in different situations: Seen at a distance, the surface seems to be of a single colour and have no texture – it is the furniture that speaks. – However, when you get closer, the colour starts to break down into a number of colours while gaining depth and intensity, and is only really close up, that the texture and colour combinations unfold.
Divina Fabric
Divina is a full-cloth product, which means that it is manufactured by weaving the yarn in a coarse linen hose casing, after which, it is subjected to mechanical processing using very high temperatures, at the same time as it is being coloured. Its surface becomes smooth, directionless and uniform in a manner very similar to the properties of felt. The result of this kind of processing is called cloth weaving, the material is transformed from being coarse woven and slightly itchy to being a soft and comfortable textile with an attractive and smooth surface. This ensures that the structure of the material is less pronounced; thus, giving its colours a chance to really shine. It is for this reason that Divina is one of the absolute best products for showing off colours in all their glory. Pure wool 100%.
Remix Fabric
“The idea was to recreate a certain atmosphere of the world of men’s tailoring, via Savile Row” says the acclaimed Italian designer of this fabric Giulio Ridolfo. Remix is made from very thin melange wool yarns, with each thread consisting of three different colours. The result is irregular colours playing across the surface of the fabric. Giulio Ridolfo has extensive experience in the fashion industry and has worked for Moroso, Vitra, Tod’s and Gianfranco Ferré. Evidence of this background can be found in much of his work with textiles.
Vidar Fabric
A tactile, sophisticated fabric with a structure. A blend of 94% wool and 6% polyamide, it is made with ”fantasy” binding which is a combination of different satin constructions woven on a jacqaurd loom. A special finish applied results in a structured, but still soft fabric. Vidar is the son of Odin the leading god in the Nordic mythology.
